A Little Corner

Letters from the first month of building in public

4 October 2026 · 1 min read

I've been called a jack of all trades for as long as I can remember. Developer, founder, photographer, filmmaker, designer, writer. For a long time I treated that like a problem to solve, as if I had to pick one and hide the rest.

This month I decided to stop hiding the rest.

Why a corner

A portfolio usually says here is the one thing I do. I wanted a place that says here is everything, and here is how to find the part you came for. So the site has three rooms (Developer, Me and Creative) and one catalogue that holds everything I've ever made.1

The name matters to me. It's not a company site. It's a corner: personal, a bit messy, and mine.

The portrait made of words

The home page starts with a portrait of me built from the list of things I am. It begins grey and huge, and as you scroll it paints itself into colour from the head down.

It's the hardest thing on the site and the one I'm proudest of. It also forced me to write the list, which turned out to be the useful part.

Things I'm practising

  • Talking to a camera without rushing
  • Colour grading that doesn't look like a filter
  • Writing like I talk

Month one is supposed to look like month one.

Current goal

Ship the first monthly update video before the month ends, and send it to at least ten people who'll tell me the truth about it.

Footnotes

  1. The catalogue pulls from my master CV, so updating one updates the other. ↩
