Problem
Spotlight only finds files if you remember what you named them. I never do.
What I built
A Raycast extension plus a Swift daemon that indexes files by meaning.
Result
My default way of finding files.
A Raycast command that merges Spotlight with on-device semantic search. Type “the receipt from the barber in March” and it finds the screenshot.
What went into it
- Reads photos, screenshots, PDFs, documents, recordings and code, entirely on-device.
- Built on the open-source DigUp engine and Google DeepMind's EmbeddingGemma.
- A background daemon keeps the index warm and watches your folders for changes.
